Information used to run the site

BTC research and public educational content can be viewed without an account. Premium application data is governed by account access. If you sign in, we use your account identifier and available profile details to recognize your account, show your membership status, and keep personal settings or authorized private records separate from other users. The site also processes technical requests needed to deliver live market information and maintain service reliability.

Payments

$99 one-time Lifetime Access purchases use Stripe-hosted checkout. You can purchase with your email without creating an account, or attach the purchase to your existing signed-in account. Paper Signal Lab receives payment status, transaction identifiers, and the email used at checkout to activate and verify membership. Card details are entered with Stripe rather than into Paper Signal Lab’s own checkout form. For email-only purchases, we use your purchase email to send one-time access links through our email delivery provider. The site stores hashed access tokens and a browser session cookie; it does not store the plain access token after sending the email.

Welcome and educational emails

New verified signups and confirmed email purchases receive a welcome email about the lab’s markets, followed by an educational Help Guide email about two days later. We use Resend to deliver these messages and secure access emails. We store your email address, delivery references, scheduled delivery times, and optional-email preferences to avoid duplicates and handle temporary delivery problems. You can stop optional onboarding emails using the preference link in those messages. This does not cancel Lifetime access or stop secure access emails you need to use your purchase.

Verified-email trial and optional marketing

For the optional all-market trial, we store the email you submit, submission and verification times, trial expiry, and delivery references. Secure verification links last one hour and are stored as hashes; full-market access starts only after verification and lasts 72 hours. One trial is available per email. Marketing consent is optional, unchecked by default and does not affect trial eligibility. If you opt in and verify, we record consent and may send educational market updates and offers, with an unsubscribe link. We use hashed client-address rate-limit keys to prevent email abuse; the trial limiter does not store raw IP addresses.

Feedback and ideas

When you send feedback, we store your message, its type, the page where you submitted it, and any contact information you choose to provide. If you are signed in, we also associate the submission with your account so the site owner can review and follow up. Feedback is visible in a restricted owner inbox; we do not email the owner for every submission.

First-party audience measurements

We estimate daily and returning visitors, live activity, visible-tab time, real page navigations, premium market previews and upgrade interactions, and checkout conversion. A random browser identifier is stored in first-party browser storage and a cookie for up to 90 days after your last activity, so we can recognize a returning browser and associate checkout with a confirmed payment. It is not a cross-site advertising identifier. Clearing browser storage or changing devices can create a new visitor. We do not store IP addresses or raw browser user-agent strings in the audience tables. Obvious automated traffic, hidden tabs, the site owner account, and browsers requesting no tracking are excluded where possible. These measurements are estimates, not a verified count of individuals.

Site preferences and service providers

The site may save display preferences on your device. Sign-in, payment processing, hosting, and market-data providers process information needed for their respective services. We do not present another user’s private trading records as part of the shared public research dashboard.

Your choices

You can browse BTC research and public educational content without signing in or paying. Lifetime purchases can use your email without sign-in. Email buyers can request a fresh secure access link using their purchase email. Signed-in buyers keep access attached to their account. Your browser settings can control locally stored site preferences. Do not enter sensitive payment information anywhere except the secure Stripe checkout page.
